Manchester

Manchester is a city and metropolitan borough of Greater Manchester, England and 'Capital of the North' The population of the Manchester local government district was estimated to be 458,100, while the surrounding metropolitan county of Greater Manchester had an estimated population of 2,562,200 and it was the United Kingdom's third-largest conurbation at that census. Manchester is part of the second-most-populous Larger Urban Zone in the UK.

Manchester today is centre for business, arts and sport, Manchester city has one of the fastest growing economies in Europe and is predominantly service-based.

Climate information

Both summer and winter weather in Manchester is mild, avoiding extremes to a large extent. Average summer temperatures are just below 20º, while Manchester winters rarely see temperatures below freezing. Summer weather in Manchester is as variable and unpredictable as the rest of the UK. Avoiding the rain is really a question of luck. Manchester rainfall is spread pretty evenly throughout the year. February March and April are the driest months. Manchester rainfall is often in the form of light drizzle.

Manchester Property Market

Although a large city, housing is generally affordable. There is an abundance of share accommodation available and flats to rent in Manchester due to the large student population.

The affordable housing and close proximity to the city make Hulme a popular spot for students and young people. Castlefield and Salford Quays are located by canals and provide water views. The Village is a combination of new buildings and renovated older style buildings and the Northern Quarter is becoming a trendy residential area with many old warehouses being transformed into apartments.
